OAK PARK HIGH SCHOOL ROCKET TEAM

Nov 15, 2013

The Oak Park High School Rocket Team placed 17th in the nation in the Team America Rocketry Challenge in Washington, D.C. in May, 2012. The team was also selected by NASA as part of their Student Launch Projects for 2012-13 with only 20 other schools in the U.S. They participated with universities such as MIT in this program and built a rocket that was taken to the NASA Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL last April that flew 3000 feet and was able to launch a Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Sponsors and partners include The Boeing Company, Friends of Oak Park Schools, Johnson Aviation, SpaceX, and AeroVironments.

We are looking for more sponsors – would you like to join our team? Your logo will appear on our TARC Rocket that we hope will be flown at the National Fly-Off outside of Washington D.C. this coming May. Be a part of it!

FUNDING OUR FUTURE

“Education is the principal agent for change for the next generations to shape a better future. An educated society will make good decisions and do the most to change income inequality. An investment in the Oak Park Education Foundation offers more than ten times the output in results. In fact, it is priceless!”
