OPEF Board Announces Bold, New Funding Plan for OPUSD Programs
In June 2018, OPEF conducted a strategic visioning retreat in collaboration with the District and parents.
After this retreat, OPEF tested these priorities through a district-wide parent survey. The Foundation received a tremendous 37% response rate from 1,097 families who identified their top three priorities:
- Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM)
- Reducing class size
- Additional counselors and counseling support
We also learned that the primary motivations for giving to the Foundation are maintaining OPUSD as one of California’s best public school districts. To accomplish this, the board approved in excess of $350,000 in funding the following for the 2018-2019 school year:
