The Oak Park Education Foundation believes in the power of collaboration between community and school to spark new interests, ignite innovative ideas, and engage children in new ways of perceiving and interacting with the world. Founded in 1989 by a coalition of parents, educators and community leaders, the Oak Park Education Foundation is a privately-funded, non-profit organization working in close partnership with District 97. Currently, the Oak Park Education Foundation implements 4 programs: science-based Global Village, Art Start, technology-based Vex Robotics and our newest endeavor, Architecture Adventure. In all of our programs, we seek working professionals in each field and pair them with teachers and classrooms. We believe in the power of that one special adult who can set a child’s kite in flight.
